Sacred is built to respect your devotional life. This policy explains what information the app and this website collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Sacred you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

On your device. Your hymnals, favorites, tags, personal hymn edits, notes, journal entries, and prayer activity are stored locally so the app works offline. The on-device database is encrypted, and your journal is additionally encrypted. Photos you add to a journal entry are kept as files in the app's private storage on your device, reduced in size and with their location and other metadata removed. They rely on your device's own protection and are not covered by the journal's additional encryption.
Account information. When you create a free account we store an authentication identifier and your email address to operate the account. Sign-in is handled by trusted providers (Google, Apple, or email and password).
Synced content (Sacred Premium only). With a Premium subscription, your favorites, tags, hymn edits, notes, journal entries, and prayer activity are sent to our servers so they follow you across devices. This sync travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is stored on access-controlled servers, encrypted at rest and isolated to your account (see How your data is protected). Photos on your journal entries sync the same way, to a private storage space under your account that is reached only through short-lived links, and they are deleted when you delete them or your account. Without Premium, this content never leaves your device.
Purchases. Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never receive your card or payment details. We store your subscription and entitlement status so the app can unlock what you've paid for.
Advertising (free users). The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use a device advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. We do not share the contents of your journal, notes, or prayers with advertisers, and Sacred Premium removes ads entirely. See Advertising below.
Notifications. If you enable notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging issues a device token so we can deliver them. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
Security & anti-abuse. When you download hymnal content we send a device identifier and a device-integrity signal (via Firebase App Check) to protect the catalog from abuse and to honor licensing. These carry no personal content.
This website. getsacred.app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and collects only aggregate page-view statistics — no personal data and no cross-site tracking.

Sacred does not use third-party product-analytics or advertising trackers inside the app beyond what is listed above, and crash diagnostics stay on your device.

How we use your information

To provide the app: store your library, sync it across your devices with Premium, and unlock purchases.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To show and measure ads in the free version, and to protect the service from abuse.
To respond to you when you contact support.

We do not sell your personal data, and we never use the contents of your journal, notes, or prayers for advertising.

Advertising

The free version of Sacred shows ads via Google AdMob, which may use a device advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. Where consent is legally required (such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), Sacred uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request your choice before any personalized ads are shown; you can change that choice later in the app under Settings → Privacy. You can also limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier in your device's privacy settings, and subscribing to Sacred Premium removes ads entirely.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf:

Google / Firebase — authentication, notifications, device integrity, and advertising (policy).
Apple — sign-in and App Store purchases (policy).
DigitalOcean — hosting for Premium sync and the hymnal catalog.
Cloudflare — this website and its cookieless analytics.

How your data is protected

Your content is protected in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. The on-device database is encrypted and your journal is additionally encrypted. Synced data is encrypted at rest, stored on access-controlled servers, and isolated to your account. Access to the systems that hold it is limited and authenticated.

Data retention

On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Synced data and account information are kept while your account is active and are removed when you delete your account (below). Some records may be retained longer where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Your rights and choices

Use Sacred without an account to keep everything on your device only.
Manage or cancel a Premium subscription anytime in the App Store or Google Play.
Sign out at any time; your data stays on the device and nothing further syncs.
Delete your account and synced data from within the app (open Settings, tap your profile, then Account → Delete Account). You may also email us to request deletion.
Control ads and notifications through the app settings and your device settings.

Children's privacy

Sacred is a general-audience worship app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

Sacred is operated from the United States and your information may be processed there and in other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
