Browse and download hymnals
Add hymn collections from the catalog and manage offline storage.
Updated October 29, 2026
Sacred offers a growing catalog of hymn collections you can download and keep on your device. Sacred Songs & Solos comes built in; the rest you add from the catalog.
Add a hymnal
- Open the Hymnals tab.
- Open the catalog of available collections.
- Tap a collection, then tap Download to save it to your device.
Downloading from the catalog needs a free account, so you’ll be asked to sign in the first time. Once downloaded, the hymnal opens instantly and works offline.
Find a hymnal
The Hymnals home shows the catalog in shelves: Trending (what people have been downloading this week), Most Downloaded, and Available Hymnals (everything you don’t have yet, newly published collections first — they wear a NEW badge for their first month). Each shelf’s See All opens the full list in that order.
On the full list, the sort menu in the top bar orders it by Name, Most downloaded, Trending, or Recently added, and the search box narrows it by name or language. A hymnal’s card and its details page show how many people have it; the count refreshes about once an hour.
Manage storage
You can see how much space each downloaded hymnal uses and remove ones you’re no longer reading:
- Go to your downloaded hymnals.
- Select a collection to view its storage size.
- Remove it to free up space — you can always download it again later.
More than one language
Some collections are published in several languages and show a “N languages” badge on their cover. See Switch a hymnal between languages to move between them.
Tip
Your favorites, tags, and personal hymn edits are stored separately, so removing and re-downloading a hymnal never loses your personalizations.
